Road Steam

The collection of road steam items comprises three vehicles - all licensed to travel on public roads.

The latest addition is a two-seater, a full-size replica of a “Locomobile” steam car of 1902.

'Jessamine' was built over a period of two years and completed in May 2008 by Ron Challener (pictured with partner Jess).

The second in the collection is a one-third full-size model of a “Foden” showman’s wagon of 1920, complete with generator and lights.

The third and final item in the road steam collection is a
one-third of full-size model of a “Foster” crane engine.

This is the oldest model in this part of the collection having been built in 1992 and purchased in 1994.

Originally without a crane, the jib was added in 2002.
